A six-day/six-night retreat in eternally charming and artistically inspiring Paris, France. We will make new friends as we utilize sketching as a means to exploring the artistic path of Eugène Delacroix, considered the father of modern art. We will explore the use of media such as pencil, pen, and watercolors in our adventure discovering locations in Paris important to Delacroix's artistic path and legacy.

Day 1

Welcome to Oxfordshire

-evening opening session and aperitif: introduction to the sketch experience and the week's activities

Exploring the Masseria

-sketching at the Oxford University campus

-watch Disney's 'Alice In Wonderland' at the Inn

Day 3

Sketching in Galatina

-light yoga and breakfast

-morning sketching lesson: composition

-lunch in Galatina

-sketching in Galatina

-dinner and evening sketch lesson: the human figure

Day 4

Sketching at a Farm and in Oxford

-breakfast and sketching animals at a nearby farm

-lunch and afternoon sketching in Oxford

-dinner and relaxation at the masseria

Day 5

Sketching in Locorotondo

-breakfast and morning sketching and relaxation at the masseria

-lunch and afternoon sketching in Locorotondo

-evening figure sketching at the masseria: 'The Pizzica' dance with model on the terrace

Your Instructor

Mike Wiesmeier has taught drawing since 1996 to people of all experience levels...from guests of world-class museums such as The Getty Center, to art students and animation industry professionals. Mike lives in Florence, Italy.
